On a personal note, I enjoyed working with Katie throughout the course completing projects for the LibGuide. It was extra fun that we have practically the same last name, my husband and her are probably distantly related somehow as his grandfather added the (e) in Quimby, changing it to Quimbey, and both have roots in the northeastern U.S. We were able to meet at her house as I was driving through one weekend; we only live about 1 1/2 hrs. from each other. And, Katie is the librarian at the same middle school where one of my best friends growing up teaches science. Katie was a great partner. We had no problems collaborating together, communicating, answering each others' questions, and helping each other out when needed.

On to the LibGuide itself - I liked the way we were able to use the projects we had already created throughout the course for the LibGuide. That was very forward thinking and I appreciate the fact that we didn't have to create all new content. I looked through many of my old lesson plan folders to come up with the list of ideas for integrating art and U.S. history. I really enjoyed the lesson we did on bird units and look forward to revising more of my lessons when I return to teaching. I'm glad you liked our introduction. It actually came to me fairly quickly since we had a clear vision of the purpose of our LibGuide and our audience. After getting a decent start, I let Katie take the lead on design because she is the librarian and can use it now in her school; whereas, I am not sure when I will return to teaching and be able to use a LibGuide like this. I definitely see the value in LibGuides though. I love what you've done with yours and as a social studies teacher, I would appreciate tremendously the vast array of resources and ideas offered through them.
